Halloween, or Hallowe’en, is a holiday celebrated on the night of October 31st, thought to be one night of the year when ghosts, witches and fairies are especially active.
Pumpkin faces
On the night of Halloween a lot of people cut faces in pumpkins and put a candle inside. In the USA, these pumpkin faces are called Jack- O´-Lantern.
The story of Jack-O´-Lantern is Irish. It is about a man who dies but cannot find heaven. He has to walk through the night with only a candle and a pumpkin to show the way.
